Why FuelCell Energy Is Seeing Green This Year

Green energy boom continues

Owners of FuelCell stock, have seen quite a bit of volatility recently. While the hydrogen fuel stock has rewarded investors, it has been a bumpy ride a long the way.

In early Autumn last year, FuelCell stock was trading at around $2 per share. In fact, the stock price stayed between $1 and $3 for much of last year.

With the benefit of hindsight, FuelCell was cheap at that price and managed to recently reach close to $30 in a stunning upward trend. More interesting to UniversallyGreen is not so much the stock movement but the underlying technology that could be of benefit to green energy.

Like the bigger and more popular Plug Power, FuelCell is developing hydrogen powered batteries, which are touted to revolutionize the battery tech for EVs.

There has clearly been a bit of a “gold rush” recently as investors try to place their bets on the most likely winners in the battery technology and EV space. Whether FuelCell can deliver the goods remains to be seen. In the meantime, expect a continued turbulent ride for the stock price.
